I am glad I selected this university as it gives me the unique opportunity of one-on-one interaction with faculty members who are at the forefront of their fi elds and also serve as platforms for interdisciplinary learning and collaborations across many fi elds of science and engineering. Additionally, the friendly atmosphere and close knit community values of Alfred helped me adapt and feel at home. Dimple Pradhan, PhD Materials Science and Engineering candidate Alfred University offers an exceptional hands-on experience, where students have the opportunity to work closely with the faculty in a variety of cutting-edge facilities. The relatively small size of the Alfred community promotes a very conversational atmosphere between the graduate student body and our faculty and staff- an ideal environment for personal scientifi c growth. As a selfmotivated individual, this has permitted me to pursue a variety of scientifi c questions effectively.
